Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. in Bridgeview, IL is seeking a Controls & Electrical Engineering Manager. This on-site, working-manager role will lead a small team of engineers and supervisors while serving as the strongest controls resource in the building.

You will own end-to-end electrical projects, design systems for production machinery and facility infrastructure, and maintain HV distribution. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive compensation range.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree or 10+ years of hands-on electrical project engineering in manufacturing.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering in manufacturing with design, controls, and projects.
• Hands-on design skills including drawings, scoping, load sizing, and calculations.
• Working-level PLC skills: able to wire, program, and troubleshoot.
• Experience with 13.8kV service, 480V distribution, MCCs, and control panels.
• Manufacturing background in complex plants; leadership experience a plus.
• PE license is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers and supervisors; guide electricians indirectly.
• Run electrical projects end to end: design, scope, budget, install, document, close out.
• Design electrical and control systems for production machinery, robotics, and infrastructure.
• Maintain and support the site's medium and high voltage distribution.
• Serve as escalation point for production when electrical, PLC, or controls problems hit.
• Troubleshoot motor control centers, panels, SCADA, and automated lines.
• Keep plant electrical drawings current and ensure NEC/NFPA 70 and local code compliance.
• Build electrical capital budgets, specs, RFQs, and BOMs for vendor quotes.
