Job summary

Colonial Group in Michigan is inviting applications for 2027 summer engineering interns as Electrical and Controls Engineering Interns. You will work with experienced professionals, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to installation, design, project engineering, and more.

Ideal candidates are pursuing BS/MS EE, maintain a 3.0+ GPA, and are willing to travel to job-sites. Familiarity with Ethernet networks, PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley preferred), and reading electrical schematics

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS/MS Electrical Engineering degree
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• Willingness to travel to job-sites
• Knowledge of Ethernet networks (Ethernet/ControlNet/DeviceNet/ProfiNet)
• Knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Knowledge of HMI programming (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Ability to read electrical schematics

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installation and commissioning
• Support design and project engineering tasks
• Learn PLC and HMI programming with guidance
• Travel to job-sites as needed
