Job summary
Georgia-Pacific in Green Bay, WI seeks an aspiring Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Capital Projects & Engineering, Machine Controls team. This role targets Spring 2027 graduates and involves applying engineering knowledge to large capital projects, obsolescence upgrades, and safety risk reduction across our facilities.
You will work with a team to design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and process control systems, collect data, and align with safety and regulatory
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with anticipated Spring 2027 graduation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with design, implementation, and startup of capital and expense projects with internal and external partners.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and process control applications to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Integrate equipment and collect process data to unlock reliability and operational improvements.
- Apply standards and specifications for control systems, electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and automation.
- Validate machine control systems to support safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with operators, technicians, and engineers to develop sustainable solutions improving uptime and design efficiency.
