Electrical Contractor Warehouse Lead

Company Overview

Position Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and ensuring orders are pulled and materials are received by vendors. Tracks inventory, locations, and labeling to ensure accuracy of supplies needed as well as supplied to the field. Ensures that project/department goals are met and adhering to a budget. This position reports directly to the Warehouse & Asset Manager. Works closely and partners with both Commercial and Service Managers, as well as Superintendents for job sites.

Essential Functions & Duties
  • Unload delivery trucks in the warehouse as needed.
  • Understands the importance of checking shipments thoroughly for damages and back ordered materials.
  • Reports damaged goods or short shipments upon receipt with management/vendor.
  • Oversee all warehouse activities including quality assurance, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Has knowledge of electrical parts and correctly labels all materials and parts.
  • Supports the process of transporting supplies to customers and job sites.
  • Has the ability to haul or deliver materials when needed to make special deliveries to jobs.
  • Responsible for training new warehouse employees and partners with manager to conduct performance reviews.
  • Must be able to supervise and delegate tasks and assignments to other warehouse employees.
  • Provide recognition and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Fully utilize and support the Materials Management System, holding others accountable for utilizing the system effectively.
  • Communicate with field and service to ensure that orders are fulfilled correctly and according to the schedule.
  • Reviews inventory records to ensure that the correct number of parts and supplies are available for use.
  • Hard copy written PO’s turned into the office the same day that they are written.
  • Warehouse Request and Requisitions pulled and ready for pickup in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Must have experience in Electrical Contractor Projects
  • Must have effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills including decision making, problem solving and planning abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in inventory control practices and logistics
  • Experience in inventory management software is a plus
  • Flexible with hours as needed for taking Inventory or assisting in special jobsite tasks when needed. Work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to lift boxes up to 100lbs, move inventory to storage areas and clean workspaces.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Must be aware of safe work practices, follow safety rules and promote a safe work environment.
