Job summary

Moog Inc. in Blacksburg, VA is seeking an Electrical Calibration Technician to calibrate and repair electronic and mechanical equipment on-site.

You will implement calibration procedures, maintain records, plan schedules, and train others while working with a variety of test instruments.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 2-year degree in Electronics or Instrumentation (or equivalent Military experience) preferred.
  • Minimum two years of electronic and/or electromechanical experience required.
  • Understanding of AC & DC electrical schematics.
  • Comfortable using traditional computers and software.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Use and calibrate electrical equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, generators, and test boxes.
  • Use and calibrate mechanical tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Store, clean, and maintain tools; verify calibration dates/seals.
  • Repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic equipment as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of logic circuitry and learn new test equipment.
  • Plan calibration scheduling with managers and maintain detailed records.
  • Arrange external calibration services and write procedures for complex needs.
  • Assist in training and cross-training of others; participate in continuous improvement.
  • Maintain organized files and use Microsoft Office for job functions.
