Job summary

Moog Inc. in Blacksburg, VA is seeking an Electrical Calibration Technician to calibrate electrical and mechanical test equipment, maintain calibration records, and plan scheduling with managers.

You will learn new test systems, repair gear, and support continuous improvement initiatives while operating with minimal supervision. A two-year electronics/instrumentation background is preferred, with at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required, 2-year degree in Electronics or Instrumentation (or equivalent Military experience) preferred.
  • Minimum two years of electronic and/or electromechanical experience required.
  • Quality conscious, technical aptitude, and good dexterity.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation: bending, kneeling and prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and tolerances.
  • Understanding of AC & DC electrical schematics.
  • Comfortable using traditional computers and software.

Responsibilities

  • Use and calibrate various electrical equipment such as soldering irons, multimeters, temperature devices, sensors, ultrasonic generators, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, and custom circuit testing boxes.
  • Use and calibrate various mechanical equipment such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Correctly store, clean, and maintain tools and equipment; verify calibration dates/seals.
  • Repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic equipment as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of logic circuitry.
  • Learn how to use new types of test equipment and systems.
  • Plan and communicate calibration scheduling needs with managers.
  • Maintain thorough and detailed calibration records.
  • Arrange and schedule external calibration services.
  • Write and maintain procedures as required for complex calibration requirements.
  • Select and order electrical inspection tools.
  • Assist in training / cross-training of others.
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process.
  • Maintain organized files, use Microsoft Office applications for various job functions.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To be considered for an Electrical Calibration Technician role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

As An Electrical Calibration Technician, You Will

Salary Range Transparency

Blacksburg, VA $21.00–$28.00 Hourly
