Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting, LLC is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to join our team. The role supports design and delivery of industrial energy projects with flexible work arrangements including hybrid and remote options.

You will create and modify detailed electrical drawings, develop 3D models, and ensure compliance with codes and company standards. Collaboration with multiple disciplines and occasional field visits are required. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. Degree in Electrical Drafting & Design or related technical field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical CAD drafting/design.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoDesk 3D products.
• Skillset in electrical modeling software: Elecdes and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D is a plus.
• Understanding electrical symbols, schematics, PLCs, control systems, panel design, hazardous area, and grounding.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D electrical drawings, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics and cable/conduit schedules.
• Develop 3D models of electrical equipment and facility layouts.
• Interpret design specifications, sketches, and markups from engineers and convert to CAD drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve design conflicts.
• Perform field visits to verify and gather site information for design accuracy.
• Mentor and guide junior drafters and lead small drafting teams.
