At AKS, we are growing and building for the future. We bring together multidisciplined experts across the land development, energy, and infrastructure markets to take on bigger challenges and deliver solutions that make a real difference. Our teams combine creativity, technical excellence, and a collaborative, hands‑on approach to solve complex problems and deliver results our clients and communities can count on. We take pride in our work and our ability to provide opportunities for our teams, support each other’s growth, and look ahead to what’s next. When you join AKS, you will find opportunities to take ownership of meaningful projects, learn, lead, and make an impact from day one.

If you enjoy turning complex electrical systems into precise, buildable models, this is an opportunity to play a critical role in how projects get delivered. As a Electrical BIM Designer / VDC Modeler, you will help bring designs to life through advanced 3D modeling, coordination, and constructability planning. You will work alongside engineers, project managers, and field teams to create highly detailed models that improve efficiency, reduce conflicts, and support successful project execution. This is a chance to combine technical expertise with real‑world impact on innovative and high‑profile projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit for a variety of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Model electrical systems including conduit routing, cable tray systems, duct banks, switchgear, lighting, and related components.
  • Produce installation drawings, shop drawings, and prefabrication‑ready details to support field execution.
  • Participate in clash detection and coordination efforts using Navisworks or similar tools to resolve issues before construction begins.
  • Partner with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure models reflect real‑world constructability and project requirements.
  • Manage modeling schedules, priorities, and deliverables while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and detail.
Who You Are
  • 3–5+ years of professional experience in electrical 3D modeling using Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and installation sequencing.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively across multiple active projects and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, error‑free deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first mindset.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Nice to Have
  • Hands‑on experience in the electrical trade such as apprentice, journeyman electrician, or field installation support.
  • Experience using Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
  • Familiarity with Trimble Field Points or similar layout technology.
  • Experience supporting prefabrication workflows or shop production environments.
  • Exposure to mission‑critical, industrial, utility, or large‑scale commercial projects.
