Job summary

HDR, Inc. is hiring a Digital Design Lead within Building Electrical to design facilities’ electrical systems, including lighting, power, communications and security in NEC compliance.

You will perform system calculations, drawing production and master specification editing, while guiding BIM Technicians and contributing to innovative, energy-efficient built environments in a collaborative, engineering-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
• Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical designs for facilities, including lighting, power, communications, and security per NEC.
• Perform basic system calculations, drawing production, and master specification editing.
• Execute assignments using standard engineering techniques under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Direct the efforts of BIM Technicians as needed.
• Carry out additional duties as required.

Digital Design Lead

• Work with Electrical Engineers and EITs to create detailed electrical designs for facilities, including lighting systems, power systems, communications, security and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Perform basic system calculations, drawing production, and some master specification editing
• Perform assignments utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures under the supervision of a licensed professional
• Direct the efforts of less-experienced BIM Technicians as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience
• A minimum of 5 years related industry experience
• Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
• Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
• Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
