Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support senior managers in overseeing all business aspects of a project from labor to budget management. The role is based at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL, with a mentoring path toward electrical project management and senior leadership.

You will collaborate with the project team, suppliers, and contractors, visiting projects regularly and communicating across trades to ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• College graduate with a construction-related degree
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience or 5+ years of relevant construction experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• With direct supervision and support from the project manager, manage the business side of a large-scale construction project.
• Collaborate with senior team members, suppliers and contractors to coordinate schedules, inventory, material and project correspondence.
• Regularly visit assigned projects, interacting with customers and other trades while representing the organization in the field.
• Maintain positive relationship with customer (general contractor and developer), engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Receive hands-on training from mentor and through our state-of-the-art training facility and utilize cutting-edge technology in the office and when visiting the field.

About the Position

As an assistant project manager at Power Design, you'll work directly with senior managers to oversee all business aspects of a project, from labor management to budget management. The assistant project manager is someone who is highly motivated and competent, excellent at communication and organization, and able to learn on the fly.
