Job summary

WSP is seeking an Architectural Engineer (Electrical design focus) to join the Denver, CO team. You will assist with substation design, power distribution, and protection systems within a multi-disciplinary group for public and private sector projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Architectural Engineering and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with strong AutoCAD and Revit skills for generating drawings and analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in electrical engineering or electrical design.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build, permitting and project work.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and understand requirements.
• Knowledge of electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and prioritization.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office software, math, and predictive models.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design work.

Responsibilities

• Design and review substation components, equipment specifications for procurement and pricing.
• Prepare electrical drawings: single line, three line, layout, grounding and protection.
• Develop layouts considering safe, compliant electrical design and permits.
• Create data visualizations and calculations for reports and analyses.
• Collaborate with engineers and discipline teams to meet project requirements.
• Support development and scoping of small to medium projects.
• Produce technical reports and presentations to convey findings.
