Mission Critical Solutions in Tampa, FL, seeks an Electrical Apprentice for a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The 4-year IEC apprenticeship program runs January–April 2026, with a 7am–4pm schedule and evening classroom time.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, installing electrical systems, and adhering to NEC/CEC standards. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, IEC training preferred, and Florida JLA badge eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; IEC apprenticeship training preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications.
  • Must enroll in IEC program; currently enrolled preferred.
  • Must obtain Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, boxes, conduits, lighting, and related components.
  • Install, repair, or replace generators and industrial storage batteries.
  • Install electrical circuits, panels, conduit, protective devices, and equipment per NEC/CEC requirements.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial equipment and connected devices.
  • Read blueprints and schematics and communicate clearly.

Job description

Electrical Apprentice in Tampa, Florida. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

Winter/Spring 2026 Class January - April

This will include a Full-Time position as an Apprentice Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm, with additional Classroom Time on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6pm - 9pm for a 4 year Apprenticeship Program through the I.E.C.

The Electrical Apprentice must demonstrate the ability to read, interpret and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications for commercial electrical equipment installations. The Electrical Apprentice will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Typical duties include:
  • Installing,repairing, or replacingelectrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic,line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts.
  • Installing, repairing, or replacing generators and industrial storage batteries.
  • Installing electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment required to accommodate the CEC and/or NEC.
  • Installing, maintaining, andcalibratingindustrial equipment and connected devices.
  • Communicatingclearly and concisely.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the NEC.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints/schematics.
Required:

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, Apprenticeship training preferred.

Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.

Experience Requirements:
  • Needs to have a detailed knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
  • Must enroll in the IEC program. (Currently enrolled candidates preferred).
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, etc.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English.
  • Knowledge of “Safe” working practices (ex. OSHA, Lock Out / Tag Out).
  • Clean background with the ability to pass a required drug screening.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime if necessary.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must possess own transportation, as most locations aren’t accessible with public transportation.
