Job summary

Masters Mechanical in Newport News, VA is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to learn the electrical trade while working alongside licensed electricians on commercial projects. You will gain hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial electrical systems under guidance from experienced team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous construction or mechanical experience is preferred but not required.
• Enrollment in or willingness to participate in an electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians with commercial electrical installations and service work.
• Learn to install conduit (EMT, RMC, PVC, and flexible conduit).
• Pull wire and install cable supports.
• Assist with installing electrical panels, breakers, switches, receptacles, and lighting systems.
• Help install and terminate electrical equipment, motors, controls, and disconnects.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and properly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned while developing electrical knowledge and skills.
