Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) is hiring an Electrician assistant to support our Electric division with hands-on electrical work on industrial, residential, and commercial systems. You will work under a project lead, gain code knowledge, and contribute to jobsite safety and quality.

The role emphasizes learning the trade, adapting in a fast-moving environment, and supporting continuing education for annual registration renewal and travel to regional sites.

Qualifications

  • 2nd year (2,000–4,000 hours) registered Unlicensed Electrician experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools and materials; able to identify wire colors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation, service, and maintenance under supervision.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and construction documents.
  • Learn current electrical codes and best practices; apply to projects.

Job Description

This role supports the Electric division by assisting with the installation, service, and maintenance of industrial, residential, and commercial electrical systems under the direct supervision of a project lead. You’ll be responsible for hands-on electrical work that directly impacts project quality, jobsite safety, and overall project success. Success in this role means developing technical skills, gaining code knowledge, and contributing positively to the jobsite while upholding KE’s commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. What You’ll Do
  • Perform electrical installation, service, and maintenance work under supervision
  • Maintain 2nd year (2,000–4,000 hours) registered Unlicensed Electrician status
  • Attend continuing education to support annual registration renewal
  • Track and report electrical work experience and ongoing education
  • Learn and apply current electrical codes and best practices
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and construction documents
  • Gain experience bending conduit using hydraulic bending machines
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Work in restricted areas and at heights
  • Follow KE safety policies and procedures
  • Work in all weather conditions depending on job location and season
  • Travel to regional job sites, including overnight and out-of-town projects
  • Work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring

  • 2nd year (2,000–4,000 hours) registered Unlicensed Electrician experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and materials
  • Ability to positively identify wire colors
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Self-starter mindset with strong teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 100%)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Pay Range

We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in. Pay Range: $22 - $25 per hour plus per diem for travel and other incentive opportunities

Physical Requirements

Typical requirements may include:

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions
  • Ability to manually dig and back-fill holes and trenches
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined or restricted areas
