Job summary

Loenbro is seeking an Electrical Apprentice in Douglas, WY to support licensed electricians with installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of commercial electrical systems.

Under the direction of a Licensed Electrician, you will perform maintenance tasks, read schematics, and follow safety protocols, contributing to a range of electrical projects while pursuing professional development opportunities with the Loenbro team.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years electrical apprenticeship preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical codes.
• Ability to understand schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• The Electrician Apprentice will assist the Electrician with basic tasks.
• Complete maintenance work orders on electrical equipment; test, identify defects, troubleshoot, repair, and replace parts.
• Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems.
• Keep personal equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

Job SummaryThe Apprentice Electrician, under the direction of the Licensed Electrician, is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of commercial electrical equipment and systems. This position will be responsible for following the directions of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work.

• The Electrician Apprentice will assist the Electrician with basic tasks.
• Complete Maintenance work orders on electrical equipment. Testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.
• Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems.
• Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Up-dates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• 2-4 years of electrical apprenticeship preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes.
• Possessing the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals

Preferred:

• Must be willing to embrace the company’s core values.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Outside most of the time.
• Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
• Limited working surfaces.
• Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
• Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
• Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
• Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
• If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
