Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to maintain, diagnose and repair power plant equipment, from 120V to 13.8kV, including boilers, switchgear, controllers and DCS systems. You will perform calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

This hands-on role supports energy-from-waste facilities and plant shutdowns. You should have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus formal technical training and 3+ years of

• Formal technical or apprentice training preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical/instrumentation maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and test LV/MV switchgear, breakers, motor starters and transformers.
• Service high voltage switchyard equipment and steam turbine generators.
• Electrical work on energy-from-waste boilers and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and adjust CEMS, flow/level/temperature instrumentation and gas analyzers.
• Troubleshoot DCS and historian devices; perform calibration tasks.
• Carry out preventative maintenance incl. thermography and ultrasonic testing.
• Operate calibration equipment and document maintenance records.
• Support plant shutdowns and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Apply today!About the roleAs an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will work safely to maintain, diagnose, and repair various types of power plant equipment, this includes maintenance related to: boilers and its associated electrical and control equipment, repair and operation of field controllers, instrumentation, motor control centers and other power plant electrical equipment ranging from 120V to 13.8kv, and AC switchgear.Position Responsibilities:Perform maintenance and testing of low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, and power transformers.Perform maintenance of higher voltage switchyard equipment and steam turbine driven generators.Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste boilers and its associated equipment, including but not limited to, pumps, fans, motors, conveyors & refuse cranes.Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste air pollution control systems.Trouble shoot, assess, inspect, adjust, and make repairs as needed to the Continuous Emissions Motoring System (CEMS) as well as all facility flow, pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation, which includes but is not limited to, transmitter flow devices, level controls, temperature measurement, and flue gas analysis equipment.Trouble shoot, assess, inspect, and adjust, and make repairs, as needed to the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and historian devices.Perform preventative maintenance tasks, which include but are not limited to, routine calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.Operate various calibration equipment and perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair work as assigned using proper Reworld safety practices.Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems and complete all maintenance work records.Actively participate in plant shutdown work including teardown inspection of electrical plant equipment.Maintain work area and tools in clean and orderly manner as well as performing plant and shop housekeeping chores.Complete Reworld safety, compliance, and other required training / certification within the assigned timelines.Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the E&I management team.Position Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentFormal technical or apprentice training, preferred3 plus years of experiencePhysical Demands of the Role:Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climbAbility to lift/carry 50lbsAbility to work from heights and in confined spacesQualify to wear a full-face respiratorConsistently work in various weather conditionsTotal Rewards & Compensation:Health Care Benefits - start 1st day of employmentWellness Program Incentives & Rewards401k - match up to 7%Paid Time Off (Vacation & Holiday)Paid Parental LeaveShort-Term & Long-Term Disability BenefitsTuition ReimbursementEmployee Referral BonusAll Reworld positions require a candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld's Values, including (but not limited to) contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.Please note that Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.Pay TransparencyReworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages.
