The ideal candidate has 20+ years in industrial instrument, electrical and controls construction, with at least 10 years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• 20+ years in industrial instrument, electrical and controls construction.
• 10+ years in supervisory position.
• IBEW apprenticeship or NCCER equivalent preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to interpret instrumentation and electrical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review EPC contractor and subcontractor construction plans, schedules and resources.
• Ensure field installations meet design, NEC, ISA and local codes/standards.
• Oversee electrical and instrument terminations and instrument testing.
• Coordinate with turnover and commissioning teams on energization readiness.
• Witness critical inspections and startup preparations.
• Track punch lists to closure and ensure accurate documentation.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Instrumentation and Electrical Construction Supervisor/Superintendent with over 20 years of industrial experience, including extensive supervisory leadership. Responsible for overseeing electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, NEC, ISA, and applicable codes and standards. Provides technical coordination with contractors, vendors, and commissioning teams while ensuring accurate documentation, progress validation, and successful project execution through startup readiness. Per diem will be provided for any non-local candidates.

Job Description

• Reviews EPC Contractor’s and electrical and instrumentation subcontractors’ construction plans, schedule, and resource allocations.
• Validate that field installation meets design and is in compliance with National Electric Code, International Society of Automation guidelines and all local and state codes and standards.
• Oversees electrical and instrument terminations.
• Oversees instrument testing including loop-checks.
• Coordinates with turnover and commissioning manager on energization and system testing readiness.
• Witnesses critical inspections and start-up preparations.
• Tracks discipline punch list items to closure.
• Validates that documentation and drawings accurately reflect field installations.
• Provide technical interface with OEM vendors as needed.
• Participates in Progress Validation efforts to determine actual progress to date.

Skills Required

• A minimum of 20 years of experience in industrial instrument, electrical, and controls construction, ten of those in a supervisory position.
• Preferred candidates will have completed an IBEW apprenticeship or NCCER equivalent and
