Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrument Designer to support our Baton Rouge, LA office.

The role involves coordinating with Designers and Engineers on multiple projects for industrial clients, and meeting with clients, performing field walks, and developing multi-disciplined proposals. The position requires five years of electrical/instrument design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Plant 3D, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Five (5) plus years’ electrical and instrument design and technician experience with clients in pipeline, chemical, refining, terminal, and/or power industries.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Design and drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation products.
• Thorough understanding of and aptitude for current computer software, including CAD systems, and general Office Products.
• Working knowledge of the NEC and industry standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D & AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Experience with 3D Modeling.
• Experience with InTools.

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrument Designer to support our Baton Rouge, LA office. The nature of the position involves working on multiple projects with other Designers and Engineers to support our industrial clients’ needs. A successful candidate will excel in a team environment, is highly self-motivated, and is skilled in coordinating with other disciplines to ensure overall design accuracy. In this role the candidate will also be expected to meet with new and existing clients, conduct field walks for projects, and develop multi-disciplined proposals.

This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Location Note

This is an on-site position. Compensation is based on market data and internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s location.

Salary Range

$55.00 - $60.00 hourly (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
