Job summary

Eversource Energy in Hartford, CT is seeking a Meter Service Mechanic Helper - Electric to perform routine field work and develop skills to install, test, maintain, and repair electric metering systems. The role involves hands-on electrical work, customer service, and participation in storm response and emergency restoration as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a clean driver's license, the CAST test, and mechanical/electrical aptitude; ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid, clean driver’s license.
Ability to pass the CAST test.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to apply electrical theory.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform routine meter service work including disconnects and reconnects.
Install, remove, exchange, and perform disconnect/reconnect of meters on single-phase and three-phase systems.
Field test electric meters and related equipment for accuracy and operation.
Work on single-phase and three-phase work orders in the field.
Assist with installation, testing, removal, repair, and maintenance of electric meters.
Load, unload, and inventory meters, metering transformers, equipment, and related devices.
Operate tools and vehicles safely in the field.
Adhere to PPE and safety protocols at all times.
