Job summary

BETA Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Propulsion Structural Engineer to develop propulsion system components from concept to certified product. You will optimize designs for weight, document analyses, and support testing and certification efforts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will work with design, systems, and certification teams to ensure robust, certifiable products and participate in rapid design-to-validation cycles that drive electric aviation forward.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical structure analysis: static structure, bolted joints, fatigue, rotordynamics, modal.
• Experience in FEA (ANSYS workbench preferred).
• Catia 3DX or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assess and challenge boundary conditions from interfacing groups.
• Perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure product integrity at minimum weight.
• Document analyses for internal reviews and certification purposes.
• Evaluate coupon/specimen or bench test needs to support validation and verification.
• Support test plans for full engine tests on test stand or on aircraft to verify analyses.
• Collaborate with design to ensure the most efficient products are defined.
• Collaborate with the systems and certification team to ensure certifiability of products.
