Qualifications

• Demonstrates a passion for strengthening American democracy and voter-centric election systems.
• 4–6 years of experience in project management, communications, or public service with an emphasis on writing, preferably related to elections.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with publishing on WordPress is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Previous grantmaking experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and evaluate grantmaking opportunities in Pro-Voter Reform and Voter-Centric Election Administration. Ensure grants align with strategy and budget.
• Manage operations and administrative processes for making grants, including communications with potential grantees, proposal materials, organizational documentation, grant agreements, and reporting requirements.
• Provide support to, and oversight of, grantees to help ensure their success, with focus on relationship-building and capacity-building. Lead check-ins and grantee meetings or convenings.
• Facilitate increased dialogue and collaboration by convening grantees, election officials, academics, advocates, and others. Manage relationships and events logistics.
• Support the development and evolution of the Election Program strategy and share learnings through research, writing, and public speaking to establish the Democracy Fund brand.
