Douglas County is hiring Elections Assistant (Clerk) for the upcoming seasonal/temporary period. The role supports property tax collection, accounts receivable, and election-related tasks. The role of this Seasonal/Temporary position is to assist in performing assigned duties related to property tax collection, accounts receivable processing, the election, absentee, and Early voting process.

Possess a valid Class D Minnesota Driver's License at all times.

Prior experience as a Minnesota Election Judge and prior experience in a public contact or customer service environment.

This is a temporary-seasonal position October-November 15th, 2026.
The work schedule is somewhat flexible, with work assignments generally occurring mid-October to November, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The scheduled work days and hours may vary, depending on voter volume and department workload.
The candidate must be available for extended hours on October 24, 27, 31, 2026, and November 1-3, 2026 (including Saturdays, October 24th, October 31st and Sunday, November 1, 2026), with the understanding that Election Nights may include working until 11:00 p.m. or later. The General election is November 3, 2026.
Be able to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, stoop, crouch, twist, and kneel. Assignments may require the ability to push, pull, and load heavy election equipment.
