Job summary

County of San Diego Registrar of Voters seeks Election Worker Specialists to fill temporary positions for Election Systems Services for the upcoming November 3rd, 2026, Gubernatorial General Election.

We are looking for individuals to scan and adjudicate ballots, organize and shelve ballot boxes, configure and prepare electronic pollbooks, and follow detailed instructions to ensure election processes run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Basic desktop computer and printer skills.
• Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions, as well as established policies and procedures.
• Competence in performing repetitive tasks and accurately reading handwritten information.
• Skills in sorting information alphabetically and numerically.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Professionalism and courtesy towards co-workers, other county employees, representatives from external agencies and the public.
• Team player with multitasking skills, patience, flexibility, and integrity.
• Ability to represent the Registrar of Voters in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic election equipment (ballot marking devices, ballot scanners, adjudication workstations, electronic poll books, printers).
• Scan and file ballots.
• Prepare and configure Electronic Poll Books for vote centers.
• Program voter and technician cards, and USB sticks.
• Adjudicate ballots.
