Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial partners with a leading voting equipment support and repair organization to hire Election Technicians in Chicago, IL. You will test, deploy, and ensure accurate operation of election equipment, traveling to locations to install and support devices and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

This hands-on role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, tech troubleshooting, and delivering reliable service for communities participating in the voting process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience with general technology products (computers, printers, scanners).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written procedures and processes.

Responsibilities

• Performing pre-election testing on tabulators and voting equipment using established procedures and checklists.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and completing equipment repairs or implementing effective solutions.
• Escalating complex equipment concerns to project leads when additional support is needed.
• Conducting post-election testing to verify equipment functionality and readiness.
• Traveling to voting locations to install, inspect, troubleshoot, and support voting equipment on-site.
• Communicating effectively with project leads, dispatchers, and team members.
• Following documented procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance.
