About the Role

Our client is looking for a compassionate and reliable Elderly Care Provider to join their dedicated team serving the Welkom community. This essential role focuses on assisting senior citizens with their daily needs, ensuring they maintain a high quality of life, dignity, and independence within their own homes or designated facilities. You will provide companionship, physical assistance, and emotional support, playing a crucial part in the well-being of our elderly population in the Free State . The ideal candidate is patient, observant, and committed to delivering personalized care with empathy and respect for individual needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with respect for privacy.
• Help with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation according to dietary needs.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in conversation, activities, and outings to combat loneliness and isolation.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor vital signs, reporting any changes to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments or social engagements in Welkom and surrounding areas.
• Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for clients, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.

Requirements

• Experience in providing care for the elderly, preferably within a home care or assisted living setting.
• Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by seniors, including common health conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
• Ability to perform basic health monitoring and medication assistance.
