Safe Harbor Home Care, a San Diego based company, seeks Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers to provide non-medical services in clients' homes and communities across North County and San Diego. Duties include bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, mobility assistance, medication reminders, housekeeping and companionship.

Requirements include 18+ years old, TB certificate, I-9 documents, LIC 508/LIC 501, SOC 341A, and at least five hours of entry-level training prior to client contact.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Clearance verified on the Home Care Aide Registry.
• Current TB certificate.
• Valid I-9 documents.
• Completed LIC 508 (Criminal Record Statement).
• Complete LIC 501 (Personnel Record).
• SOC 341A (Report Suspected Abuse of Dependents and Elders).
• Minimum of five hours entry-level training prior to client presence.

Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Qualifications include:

• 18 years of age or older;

• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry;

• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate;

• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents;

• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508);

• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)

• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)

• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level training prior to presence with client(s).

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Assist with the activities of daily living and personal care including:

-bathing-shaving-ambulation

-mouth care-dressing-exercising

-hair care-feeding-toileting/incontinence care

-nail care-positioning-medication reminding
