Job summary

Jenks Public Schools East Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma seeks an Instructional Assistant for the English Language Development (ELD) Program. The role supports certified staff in meeting diverse student needs across instructional settings, reinforces language development across content areas, and helps organize materials and assessments.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree with strong interpersonal skills and computer skills, and will work nine-months on a classified hourly contract.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce English language development in content areas; math, English language arts, social studies, and science.
  • Work with individuals and groups of students to reinforce or remediate learning initially introduced by the teacher.
  • Guide student independent, enrichment, and remedial work assigned by the teacher.
  • Organize, distribute, collect, and prepare materials, i.e., project materials, student manipulatives, etc.
  • Review student work, supervise testing and assessments, and maintain records as assigned by the teacher.
  • Collaborate with teachers in planning and curricular areas.
  • Assist in the supervision of students in a variety of settings.
  • Serve as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the teacher or may be assigned as the substitute teacher.
  • Maintain a level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of certified teachers.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

Position Goal: Assist certified staff in meeting individual student needs within a variety of instructional settings.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
