Job summary

Muscatine Community School District seeks an EL Teacher (building/grade to be determined) for a full-time contract across nine district schools. Starting August 13, 2026, the role pays $50,000 per year and reports to the Principal within the Instruction area.

The teacher will implement district and state standards, use performance data to guide instruction, engage families and staff, and foster a respectful, outcomes‑driven learning environment for diverse students.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an appropriate State of Iowa certification prior to the start of each contract year.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

  • Supervisory/management skills: coordinating volunteers, paraeducators, and aides.
  • Specific skill expertise: understanding of students’ needs, teamwork, independent judgment.
  • Equipment proficiencies: audio equipment, projectors, video equipment, building systems (security, intercom, telephone), computer use, photocopiers, laminators, lab equipment.
  • Human relations skills are essential.
