Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, part of Catholic Health, is seeking a Full-time EKG Technician II to join our team. You will perform EKGs with high-quality tracings and manage Holter monitors and EEGs through our hospital information systems.

Minimum one year in acute care preferred; HS diploma required. You must be able to use EKG/EEG equipment and stay up-to-date with evolving technology and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Completed EKG/EEG training from an accredited school.
• Competent in detecting cardiac arrhythmias.
• Minimum 1 year experience in acute care; new grads welcomed.
• Able to operate EKG/EEG equipment and use hospital information systems.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and communicate tactfully.
• Willing to upgrade skills with evolving technology.

We are looking for a Full time EKG Technician II to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Performs all EKG’s with an emphasis on quality tracings.


• Performs and scans all Holter Monitors, performs all Electroencephalograms.


• Ability to utilize EKG management system.

Requirements

• High School graduate or G.E.D.


• Successful completion of EKG/EEG training from an accredited school.


• Must be competent in detection of cardiac arrhythmias.


• Minimum 1 year previous experience in acute care setting preferred; new graduates accepted.


• Ability to operate EKG and EEG equipment. Must be able to utilize hospital information system and be proficient in Holter Monitor scanning.


• Ability to communicate in a tactful, diplomatic way.


• Ability to handle information with strict confidentiality.


• Willingness to upgrade skills with evolvement of technology

Salary Range

USD $36.38 - USD $41.02 /Hr.
