Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking an EKG Technician to operate EKG machinery, record heart readings, and ensure accuracy of results. You will interact with patients and support the cardiovascular team in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs on adults and pediatric patients, greeting patients, relaying messages, setting up Zoll monitors, and documenting tests in the EMR. This on-site per diem role offers flexible scheduling and light weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Experience performing/recording electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG).
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• EKG certification will be obtained after hire.

• Greets Cardio-vascular patients and answers the phone in the department as needed. Relays messages clearly and precisely to team members.
• Assists the nurses and technologist with patient preparation of exams in the cardiovascular department.
• Sets up Zoll Monitors and instructs patients how to care for the monitor and how to return the device.
• Assists in the distribution of test orders, reports and scans into EMR as needed.
