Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this entry-level position is responsible for coordinating and supporting engineering activities. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful.

• Applies engineering knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.

Job Description

• Collaborates in projects within scope, schedule, and cost, under supervision of an engineer licensed in Puerto Rico,
• Supports and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring basic engineering expertise.
• Assists and performs engineering tasks and projects associated with a critical or analytical engineering project or a small number of complex projects that require specialized knowledge.
• Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations.
• Participates in design activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
• Supports development and updating single line diagrams, and design drawings, and equipment specifications, under supervision of a PR PE
• Supports QA/QC design review.
• Provides basic technical support to field and construction groups.
• Utilizes engineering processes and standards.
• Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management.
• Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• Zero to two years of professional engineering experience.

Licenses

• EIT Certificate issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects.
