Job summary

ENRICHMENT SERVICES PROGRAM INCORPORATED in Columbus, GA, is seeking a Full-time Early Childhood Educator for the Child Development Center. The role focuses on establishing, maintaining, and managing classroom activities to meet Head Start Performance Standards.

Responsibilities include planning daily lessons, organizing learning centers, fostering secure infant/toddler relationships, implementing EHS curriculum, and collaborating with families to support children's development and transition

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least six ECE or related courses.
  • Associates Degree with experience working with young children and a commitment to completing ECE courses.

  • Arrange classroom by developmental levels and individual needs of infants/toddlers.
  • Promote secure relationships with infants and toddlers and ensure continuity of care.
  • Implement the EHS curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards for Early Head Start classrooms.
  • Attend meetings, training, and workshops as required, and conduct Home Visits with Parents.

Job Summary

Responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and management of classroom activities and providing those services necessary to meet the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or Associates degree in a related field with at least six ECE or related courses. OrAssociates Degree with experience working with young children and a commitment to completing ECE courses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans and daily schedules.
  • Develop, organize and maintain learning centers within the classroom.
  • Organize classroom according to developmental levels and individual needs of the infant or toddler ensuring: the development of trust and emotional security; opportunities to explore a variety of sensory and motor experiences;
  • Promote the development of secure relationships with infant/toddlers assigned by assuring primary and continuity of care
  • Implement the EHS curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards for Early Head Start classrooms
  • Feed infants according to their home schedule, hold them every time they are fed, and share information about their eating with their parents daily. Begin family style dining with toddlers when they are ready and implement according to program policy and procedures, and EHS Performance Standards
  • Involve parents in all aspects of the classroom. Greet parents and children pleasantly and appropriately, ensuring a smooth transition into the center, a positive home-center connection and a family partnership
  • Maintain order by using positive approach to behavior management.
  • Recruit volunteers and solicit In-kind contributions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of classrooms and adjoining restrooms.
  • Serve as an advocate for the Head Start Program, families and children.
  • Assist with mandated screening & assessments of the children.
  • Complete daily heath & anecdotal observations of children
  • Attend meetings, training and workshop as required.
  • Complete Home Visits and Parent Teacher Conferences a minimum of twice a year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
