Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to lead environmental programs across our Albuquerque, NM facilities. You will promote a culture of safety, sustainability and regulatory compliance while partnering with EHS professionals.

You will develop and implement environmental programs, assist with regulatory compliance, train staff, and oversee audits, hazardous materials handling, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an environmental, health and safety program.
• Experience preparing EHS documentation (incident reports, action plans).
• Experience coordinating EHS training with internal departments.
• Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional teams to support safety culture.
• Certification relevant to environmental/EHS responsibilities is a plus but not required.
• Experience in manufacturing, R&D, lab or similarly regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with environmental goals.
• Engage employees to understand workflow and EHS concerns.
• Engage with regulators to ensure compliance and permits.
• Develop, review and conduct EHS training.
• Stay updated with environmental regulations and inspections.
• Prepare regulatory reports, permits and documentation.
• Conduct internal and external audits and inspections.
• Manage hazardous materials and waste activities.
• Assist in incident investigations and preventive actions.
• Support other EHS functions and act as backup.
• Be part of Emergency Response Team.
