Job description

Pay: $49/HR to $52/HR

1 year contract to start. Has ability to extend/convert.

Job Description:

Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental programs to ensure regulatory and internal compliance for pharmaceutical manufacturing and research organizations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Air emission calculations and tracking performance against permit requirements.
  2. Write and submit permit applications for air and wastewater program to Illinois EPA and the local POTW.
  3. Write and submit routine and non-routine compliance reports for hazardous waste, wastewater, and air to Illinois EPA and the local POTW.
  4. Assist with response to incidents, lead incident investigations, and support organization in identifying and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Communicate lessons learnt across the organization.
  5. Conduct routine inspections, create corrective action plans, and facilitate completion with business owner.
  6. Track and trend EHS metrics and develop solutions and strategies that drive continuous improvement at the local level.
  7. Update EHS training to ensure relevant regulations and business changes are incorporated. Provide EHS training and update EHS guidelines, operating procedures, and checklists.
  8. Plan and implement major projects for enterprise-wide and localized organization and track to successful completion.

Qualifications:

Must have BS; preferred in Environmental Eng or Environmental Sciences, Chem Eng, or Geo Chemistry.

Must have at least 2-3 years (if it's exclusive to remediation, soil, and groundwater).

Experience with Environmental Permitting (Preferred).
