Lonza in Portsmouth, NH, seeks an EHS Specialist I to implement and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, ensuring regulatory and company standards compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of EHS experience in Biotechnology, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, or another regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Ability to conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• New Hampshire Hazardous Waste Coordinator certification preferred; NH EHS certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day EHS activities through routine floor presence with manufacturing teams.
• Assist with implementing and administering EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and action tracking.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and company requirements.
• Deliver EHS training and safety awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Support environmental compliance activities, emergency preparedness, EHS reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
