Job summary

California State University, Stanislaus is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join the Safety & Risk Management team as a full-time temporary professional. You will support EHS programs, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and training while ensuring compliance with federal, state, CSU, and university regulations.

Reporting under supervision, you will collect data, maintain records, and assist with outreach and reporting.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience substitutable for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience in higher education, government, or similarly regulated environment preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, CSU, and university EHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing and maintaining EHS programs and training.
• Assist with inspections, hazard and risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Maintain EHS records, databases, permits, and inspection logs.
• Support environmental health and safety data collection and reports.
• Assist with routine safety orientations and trainings.
• Help ensure regulatory compliance across campus departments.
