Job summary

T1 Energy is seeking a Safety Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety programs as we build a new 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas. You will work in an active construction-site environment, partnering with project teams, contractors, and vendors to identify hazards, verify compliance, and support safe execution of construction activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred in safety, environmental science, or related field.
• 3+ years of EHS or safety experience in manufacturing/construction/industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and incident reporting practices.
• Experience with hazard recognition, safety inspections, audits, investigations, corrective-action tracking, and employee training.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations; EPA and TCEQ preferred.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 experience preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour or credential such as ASP/CHST/CSHO preferred.
• Emergency response, HAZWOPER, first aid/CPR, and incident command training is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support EHS activities in an active construction-site environment until commissioning and operations begin.
• Review work plans with project teams, contractors, and vendors; address unsafe conditions and promote compliance.
• Perform field observations, inspections, and compliance audits for OSHA and company EHS programs.
• Identify hazards; recommend corrective actions; track findings to closure.
• Respond to incidents; gather facts; conduct investigations and prepare reports.
• Develop and deliver safety and environmental training on PPE, emergency response, hazard recognition, and other topics.
• Verify PPE use and compliance with site requirements.
• Assist with emergency preparedness plans, drills, and incident command readiness.
• Help create and continuously improve site EHS policies, SOPs, forms, permits, and training materials.
• Translate regulatory/ company requirements into practical site procedures and controls.
• Collaborate with site leaders to improve safety performance and foster a zero-harm culture.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems with program implementation and audits.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, calendars, and training documentation.
• Monitor OSHA, EPA, TCEQ standards and relevant hazardous-material reporting.
