Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking an EHS Specialist to partner with site Operations leaders to drive EHS ownership and accountability. The role requires 3+ years of HSE experience, deep regulatory knowledge, and the ability to work independently in high-risk scenarios.

Responsibilities include administering training, investigating injuries and near-misses, performing site risk assessments, inspecting facilities and equipment, and supporting safety committee initiatives.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and investigations.
  • Forklift and safety equipment familiarity is a plus.
  • Manufacturing safety experience preferred.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The EHS Specialist will partner directly with site Operations leaders to drive EHS ownership and accountability. This role is intended for people with 3 or more years' HSE experience who have deep knowledge of applicable regulations, root cause analysis, and an ability to work independently in high-risk scenarios.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist in administering and building upon mandatory safety training for the plant to ensure compliance and ensure employees, temporary employees, and transferred employees receive proper training
  • Assist in the injury/illness and near-miss incident investigation process, review reports, and follow up as necessary
  • Perform risk assessments of site operations to determine risk and implement defenses to protect employees from uncontrolled risk .
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards
  • Assist in/drive the development of equipment-specific lockout tagout procedures and standard work instructions.
  • Prepare reports, present safety recommendations, and maintain corresponding accounts
  • Assist in implementing effective risk management solutions and plans
  • Ensure employees operate in a safe, orderly, and clean environment.
  • Provide information and assistance to the safety committee and serve on the committee
  • Member of the First Aid/CPR Responder/ERT team
  • Manage occupational injuries and illnesses from time of injury through full return-to-work
ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
  • Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
  • Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (14001 and 45001)
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental, or related technical discipline .
  • Bilingual preferred (ability to understand, read, write and speak English and Spanish)
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Capacity to work overtime as needed
