Job summary

MEI Safety Manager position seeks an independent professional to support the Rigging & Crating group, ensuring that operations are efficient and safe while promoting MEI’s incident- and injury-free safety culture across sites.

Responsibilities include implementing all MEI EHS policies, coordinating OSHA and customer-required training, conducting risk assessments and JHAs, leading incident investigations with IRB and occupational health partners, and maintaining SIPPS, permits, audits and records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 5 years EHS experience in construction or Manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years EHS experience at a multi-site organization.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintains EHS policies and programs.
• Supports MEI sites with OSHA, forklift and site-specific training.
• Provides risk assessment, JHA development and incident investigations.
• Collaborates with IRB and site management on incident reviews.
• Manages SIPPS, hot-work permits, confined spaces, SDS, and audits.
• Performs routine site audits of equipment, practices and procedures.
• Develops safety work instructions and job hazard analyses.
