Job summary

H.T. Prof Executive Search seeks an EH&S professional for a manufacturing plant in Orange County. The role focuses on regulatory and technical EH&S responsibilities, ensuring safety and environmental compliance across operations.

The candidate will oversee lockout/tagout, develop SOPs, train teams, and participate in safety committees as part of a 24-hour HAZWOPER team. A BS in engineering and manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally in chemicals or materials manufacturing.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is ideal (24-hour certification is acceptable).
• Experience with lockout/tagout procedures and safety SOPs.
• Experience delivering EH&S trainings and participating in safety committees.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EH&S programs to ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
• Maintain lockout/tagout procedures and train site personnel.
• Conduct monthly EH&S training sessions and regular inspections.
• Participate in weekend safety meetings and safety committee activities.
• Write EH&S related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support 24-hour HAZWOPER team on incident response.
• Manage administrative duties with internal EH&S software systems.
• Assist in permit-required environmental activities (wastewater, storm water, air quality, etc).

This person will be based at a manufacturing plant in Orange County that is quietly revolutionizing the plastics industry. The company itself is about 20 years old and they've been slowly building over that time. In addition to virgin material, they also manufacture some of their own products and this person will be involved with the regulatory and technical side of their business, helping to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations while also making contributions as a process engineer. Overall, this company employs about 75 people and this role reports to the EH&S Director. The plant is run as if it's PSM-regulated but they do not fall under OSHA PSM standards. They are cGMP-regulated because some of their own products are manufactured for human use.

Here are some of the daily/monthly responsibilities this role will have:

• Work with team members to ensure lockout/tagout procedures are available and up to date
• Perform monthly in-person EH&S related training
• Perform periodic EH&S inspections
• Take part in weekend safety meetings and safety committee teams
• Write EH&S related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• This role is a member of the 24-hour HAZWOPER team
• This person will manage administrative duties with internal EH&S software systems
• This person will assist in permit required environmental activities (wastewater, storm water, air quality, etc)

• Open to hiring someone who has been an EH&S Engineer before, or a process engineer who is curious to expand their skillset
• Train the Trainer certified in LOTO/Confined Space/Fall protection, or other technical area
