Accounting Search seeks an EH&S engineer to join a plastics-focused manufacturing plant in Orange County. You will help ensure regulatory compliance, write SOPs, and contribute to environmental and safety programs under the EH&S Director. The role involves site-based work and cross-functional team collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in engineering, 3+ years in manufacturing, and a 40-hour HAZWOPER (24-hour accepted).

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, etc).
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally in chemicals or materials.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is ideal (24-hour acceptable).
• Open to EH&S Engineer or process engineer aiming to expand skills.
• Train the Trainer certification in LOTO/Confined Space/Fall protection, or similar.

Responsabilités

• Work with team to ensure lockout/tagout procedures are up to date.
• Perform monthly EH&S related training.
• Perform periodic EH&S inspections.
• Participate in weekend safety meetings and safety committees.
• Write EH&S related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Be a member of the 24-hour HAZWOPER team.
• Manage administrative duties with internal EH&S software systems.
• Assist in permit‑required environmental activities (wastewater, storm water, air quality, etc).

Job Description:

This person will be based at a manufacturing plant in Orange County that is quietly revolutionizing the plastics industry. The company itself is about 20 years old and they've been slowly building over that time. In addition to virgin material, they also manufacture some of their own products and this person will be involved with the regulatory and technical side of their business, helping to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations while also making contributions as a process engineer. Overall, this company employs about 75 people and this role reports to the EH&S Director. The plant is run as if it's PSM-regulated but they do not fall under OSHA PSM standards. They are cGMP-regulated because some of their own products are manufactured for human use.

Here are some of the daily/monthly responsibilities this role will have:

• Work with team members to ensure lockout/tagout procedures are available and up to date
• Perform monthly in-person EH&S related training
• Perform periodic EH&S inspections
• Take part in weekend safety meetings and safety committee teams
• Write EH&S related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• This role is a member of the 24-hour HAZWOPER team
• This person will manage administrative duties with internal EH&S software systems
• This person will assist in permit required environmental activities (wastewater, storm water, air quality, etc)

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, etc)
• 3+ years of previous manufacturing experience, ideally in chemicals or materials manufacturing
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is ideal (24-hour certification is acceptable)
• Open to hiring someone who has been an EH&S Engineer before, or a process engineer who is curious to expand their skillset
• Train the Trainer certified in LOTO/Confined Space/Fall protection, or other technical area
