Role Description

As the EHS Manager, you will work alongside our technical and operations teams to build and drive a best-in-class safety program and culture across our growing organization. You will lead the development and continuous improvement of safety programs for Via’s headquarters and operations at customer manufacturing sites. You will serve as Via’s subject matter expert on Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and best practices. This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate ready to scope and set up an EHS management system for a growing start-up, but also is excited to roll up their sleeves and implement EHS processes and standards.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS Management Systems for lab and field activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Analyze EHS trends, conduct root cause analysis for incidents, and develop improvement plans to enhance safety protocols.
  • Lead facility safety assessments, oversee hazardous material handling, and ensure emergency response procedures are in place and followed.
  • Coordinate comprehensive EHS training programs, communicate safety requirements, and advise the leadership team on compliance milestones and strategic safety plans.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these qualifications

  • 4+ years of EHS experience with a focus in industrial manufacturing environments and chemistry lab environments required.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or willingness to become CSP / CIH certified (company sponsored) with a knowledge of Federal, State and local EHS laws, regulations, codes and best management practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • You must be: organized & detail-oriented, adaptable, able to prioritize and balance multiple projects, team-oriented, and love to troubleshoot and think critically.
  • Some travel (less than 10% of the time) may be required
  • U.S. Work authorization is required for this role.
