Job summary

nVent is seeking an experienced EHS leader to drive safety and environmental initiatives across a manufacturing site in Wisconsin. You will be the go-to expert for safety, health, and environmental mentorship, aligning programs with plant priorities and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of progressive EHS leadership, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and ASP/CSP certification. This role offers a chance to champion a ZERO HARM culture and collaborate with leadership to sustain

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and applying them in plant settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and advance EHS strategy with clear direction for people and business outcomes.
  • Be a visible safety leader with shop floor presence and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with Plant Manager to align EHS initiatives with priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Identify workplace hazards and collaborate with plant teams to mitigate risk.
  • Champion a ZERO HARM culture across the organization.
  • Monitor OSHA/EPA regulations and translate into practical solutions.
  • Oversee environmental programs related to waste, water, and energy.
  • Engage employees to develop and implement continuous EHS improvements.
  • Manage EHS documentation, permits, and vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation cases with HR and Legal.
  • Lead incident reporting/investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate EHS training to meet regulatory and company requirements.

What You Will Experience In This Position

  • Monitor and interpret EHS regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA), assess potential impacts, and translate requirements into practical, effective solutions.
  • Own environmental programs related to waste, water, and energy, supporting both regulatory compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Engage employees at all levels to identify, develop, and implement continuous EHS improvements.
  • Manage EHS documentation, permits, and vendor relationships, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation cases, partnering with HR and Legal to drive appropriate outcomes.
  • Lead incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow up.
  • Facilitate EHS training programs, ensuring all regulatory and company requirements are met and well understood.
You Have
  • Background in Engineering, Science, Safety, or Environmental disciplines preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, engineering, construction management or related preferred
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systems
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or construction environment
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, with the ability to apply them effectively in a plant setting
