Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an EHSS Manager in Minnesota to lead environmental, health, safety and sustainability programs. You will develop plant EHSS strategy, ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations, and manage occupational health initiatives.

Strong problem solving and influencing skills are essential. You will collaborate with locations, lead audits, and drive incident investigations, training, and continuity planning.

Qualifications

  • BS in Environmental Health, Safety or related field; MS preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years in EHS/Industrial Hygiene with EPA/OSHA/DOT regulatory focus; 2–3 years supervisory.
  • Professional certification in environmental or safety field preferred (CHMM, CSP or CIH).
  • Must understand EPA/OSHA/DOT regs; able to read and interpret corporate rules and procedures; capable of writing routine reports.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage all EHS compliance programs; monitor new EHS regulations.
  • Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies for inspections, permits and reporting.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications and manage permits for operations and construction.
  • Lead investigations of accidents and non‑compliance and drive gap mitigation.
  • Lead site EHS audits program and coordinate training and wellness initiatives.

Your Role at the company

EHSS Manager will lead in the areas of environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHSS). Leader will lead in the development and deployment of Plant EHSS strategy, policies, and procedures. Ensure that Plant is following applicable Federal, State and local laws and fulfillment of all division and the company EHSS objectives. EHS Manager will cover Occupational Health programs. Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills are necessary. Ability to support other the company locations.

What you’ll be doing
  • Develop, implement, and manage all environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance programs. Evaluate and act upon new EHS regulations. Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies for inspections, permits, and reporting. Monitor and direct the facility regarding permits related to operations and construction. Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Certifications. Ensure appropriate contracts and review hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal. Partner with management to investigate all work-related accidents and non-compliance incidents and facilitate mitigation of identified gaps. Perform analytical review and risk-based assessments to ensure compliance and appropriate actions are addressed proactively. Effectively interfaces with all levels of employees to include direct labor through senior management, and influences improvement. Provide EHS technical expertise and resources to new business and validation and engineering projects with ownership in outcomes. Own and improve site EHS audits program with emphasis on compliance, program effectiveness and employee engagement. Lead the EHS&S Committee, champion wellness programs outcomes. Work with corporate EHS function to support and execute all EHS projects and programs on time and in full. Responsible for EHS plant related and department budget and expenses. Analyze health and safety costs and value which support business alignment. Lead and continuously improve all EHS related training for plant personnel. Manage Occupational Health programs for example employee health exams/profiles, drug testing, management of Worker's Compensation. Own and improve site business continuity plan.
What you’ll bring
  • BS degree in Environmental Health, Safety or related field. MS degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering, Technology or Management preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations with a minimum of 2 -3 years supervisory experience. Professional certification in the environmental or safety field (i.e. CHMM, CSP, or CIH), preferred. Must be knowledgeable in EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as Corporate rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have deep knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations with experience in executing California specific requirements Proven ability to develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans. Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to problem-solve and resolve technical difficulties. Must be able to influence at all levels and across functional lines. Must be able to flex schedule to accommodate training programs and investigations on off-shifts.

At the company, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
