Job summary

Johnson Controls in Albany, Missouri is seeking an experienced EHS Manager III to lead safety and environmental initiatives in a complex manufacturing setting. You will own EHS processes, drive continuous improvement, and partner across operations, engineering, HR and quality to embed safety into daily decisions.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of EHS in manufacturing, a bachelor’s in safety or related field, and experience guiding matrixed teams through ISO 14001/45001/9001.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 5–10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• 3–5 years of experience managing a team.
• Proven ability to influence matrixed teams and drive cultural transformation.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001/45001/9001 and regulatory standards.
• Proficient in EHS data analytics and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies aligned with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (JHA, HAZOP), and ergonomic evaluations.
• Lead environmental reporting, waste characterization, and regulatory submissions.
• Drive EHS audits and risk assessments across the plant.
• Coach cross-functional teams and embed EHS in daily decision-making.
• Deliver tailored EHS training and communicate performance metrics.
• Track leading and lagging indicators to guide improvements.
• Partner with Legal on regulatory topics.
