Job summary

Marmon Holdings, Inc. seeks an experienced EHS leader to drive environmental permitting strategies and regulatory compliance for a new facility in Texas. The role collaborates with project teams, regulators, and consultants to ensure permits, registrations, and approvals are secured prior to production.

The incumbent will manage health and safety programs, incident investigations, and training to foster a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance across local and federal levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing or related operations.
  • Experience obtaining and managing environmental permits and regulatory approvals.

Job description

* Lead the environmental permitting strategy and obtain all required permits, registrations, and approvals necessary for facility construction and operation.* Serve as the primary point of contact with environmental regulatory agencies, consultants, and external stakeholders.* Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, permits, and corporate standards at the local, state, and federal levels.* Monitor regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on facility operations and compliance requirements.* Prepare, review, and submit required environmental reports, permit applications, renewals, and regulatory filings.* Partner with project teams, architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental requirements into facility design and construction activities.* Conduct environmental due diligence, site assessments, and environmental impact evaluations.* Review construction equipment and operational plans to identify environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.* Support commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities to ensure all environmental requirements are met prior to production launch.* Coordinate environmental compliance activities associated with facility expansions, modifications, and capital projects.* Direct health and safety policies, procedures, and oversight through dedicated and support resources.* Define the site's health and safety approach, strategy, policies, programs, and resource requirements necessary to execute EHS objectives effectively.* Work closely and effectively with operations leaders and support personnel to implement and sustain health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives that promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance.* Serve as the site's health and safety subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and applicable industry requirements.* Investigate and evaluate new equipment, processes, and facility modifications to ensure safe operation and identify potential risks before implementation.* Support the development and execution of training programs that increase employee proficiency in safe work practices and reinforce a strong safety culture.* Maintain health and safety records, documentation, certifications, regulatory reports, and compliance files required for facility operations.* Lead and support workplace health and safety inspections, audits, reviews, industrial hygiene evaluations, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to identify and mitigate risks.* Develop and implement incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action, and recurrence prevention processes.* Partner with designated safety champions, supervisors, and leadership teams to support accident investigations and safety improvement initiatives.* Direct industrial hygiene, occupational health, ergonomics, and general safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.* Lead emergency preparedness efforts, response planning, drills, and provide leadership during emergency situations.* Establish health and safety performance metrics and reporting processes to drive accountability and continuous improvement.* Foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Occupational Safety, or a related technical field.* Minimum 7 years of environmental compliance experience within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, food processing, or related operations.* Experience obtaining and managing environmental permits and regulatory approvals.* Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.* Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational health and safety requirements.* Demonstrated experience developing and implementing environmental management programs.* Experience implementing workplace safety programs, conducting incident investigations, and managing corrective action initiatives.* Experience interacting with environmental regulatory agencies and managing compliance inspections.* Strong project management, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.* Experience supporting greenfield facility development, startup, or major capital projects.* Professional certifications such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar credentials.* Experience implementing Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).* Experience implementing Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001).* Experience leading sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.* OSHA Regulations and compliance before production launch.* Establish effective environmental monitoring, reporting, auditing, and compliance processes.* Maintain full compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements while supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable facility operations.* Successfully prepare the facility for regulatory inspections, audits, and ongoing growth
