Job summary

BSI is seeking an experienced EHS Lead Auditor / Client Manager as an Independent Contractor to serve clients across the United States with up to 100% travel.

The role requires fully qualified Lead Auditor status and deep experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with ISO 9001 knowledge a plus. You will plan, conduct, and report audits, manage client relationships, and travel extensively to client sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Current, fully qualified Lead Auditor status.
• Demonstrated qualification and audit experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• ISO 9001 qualification or experience preferred.
• At least 3–5 years of Environmental, Health and Safety or Occupational Safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of management system auditing practices.
• Excellent client-facing, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a demanding travel and assessment schedule.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and professionalism.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel by air or automobile.
• Spanish, Portuguese, or French language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite management system assessments against ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with ISO 9001 experience desirable.
• Plan and manage assessments, travel, reporting, and client communication.
• Deliver clear findings and corrective-action guidance.
• Make certification recommendations in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Manage assigned client relationships and provide a consistently high-quality experience.
• Lead assessment teams when required.
• Complete accurate, timely, and professional assessment reports.
