  • Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining occupational health and safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations, risk assessments, and machine-safety reviews.
  • Evaluate machine guarding, lockout/tagout, confined-space, and production-line hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action implementation.
  • Develop, update, and implement site safety procedures, training programs, and risk assessments.
  • Analyze injury, incident, and safety-trend data to identify risks and improvements.
  • Support environmental compliance, waste management, environmental reporting, and air-permit requirements.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 environmental management system requirements and support site audit readiness.
  • Evaluate warehouse, automated equipment, and powered-industrial-vehicle safety practices.

Job description

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Health, Safety & Sustainability Engineer. This role is responsible for assessing workplace risks, developing and maintaining site safety programs, supporting incident prevention and investigations, and ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance within a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations, workplace risk assessments, and machine-safety reviews
  • Evaluate machine guarding, lockout/tagout, confined-space, and production-line hazards
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action implementation
  • Develop, update, and implement site safety procedures, training programs, and risk assessments
  • Analyze injury, incident, and safety-trend data to identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support environmental compliance, regulated waste management, environmental reporting, and air-permit requirements

Skills & Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • Professional HSE/EHS experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated operating environment
  • Practical experience developing, implementing, or maintaining occupational health and safety programs
  • Experience with hazard identification, workplace risk assessments, and risk mitigation
  • Experience with lockout/tagout, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Experience developing safety procedures, assessments, training materials, and compliance documentation
  • Working knowledge of applicable HSE regulations, emergency preparedness, and response requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HSE data tracking and reporting
  • 1+ year of relevant professional HSE/EHS experience
  • Experience within automotive, high-volume manufacturing, oil and gas, or another industrial environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Experience with machine safety, safeguarding, automated equipment, robotics, and safety controls
  • Basic knowledge of PLC-supported machine protection systems
  • Industrial Hygiene knowledge
  • Experience with environmental compliance, regulated waste management, and air-permit requirements
  • Experience supporting warehouse and powered-industrial-vehicle safety programs
