Job summary

CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Director role overseeing HSE programs for a Life Science/Pharma client. Located near West Point, PA with travel up to 25% (incl. international).

Must reside commutable to the flagship West Point site. Leadership of staff, strategic risk management, and regulatory compliance are core responsibilities. Role requires strong stakeholder management, adherence to CBRE RISE values, and ability to drive program alignment across multiple accounts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Health & Safety experience in Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple departments results within a function.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Approve all playbook, and procedure changes. Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives drive program consistency and efficiency.
  • Review operational and safety risks. Execute all strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents.
  • Point of contact for government agencies, professional health, safety, and environmental organizations, community advisory boards, company health, safety, and environmental officers, and all internal safety efforts.
  • Provide information to senior management about health, safety, and environmental issues, compliance, trends, performance, and concerns.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance needs are being met across all accounts.
  • Apply a robust knowledge of multiple disciplines, the business, and key drivers that impact departmental and cross-functional performance.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to act while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.
  • Identify and solve multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.
  • Significantly improves and changes existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.

About the Role

As a CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Director, you will be responsible for the oversight of the department responsible for creating and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs for a Life Science/ Pharmaceutical client in the West Point, PA area.

This is a role to support Health & Safety for a cluster of facilities located in the SE area of PA. Must reside commutable distance to the flagship West Point, PA site. Travel is up to 25% with about 10% including international travel.

What You'll Need
