Job summary

TAS Energy is seeking an EHS Coordinator to support the EHS Manager in administering the EHS program on a floor level in the Houston area. You will interface with floor personnel to ensure goals and objectives are communicated effectively.

The role requires strong organizational skills, collaboration with production leadership, and the ability to conduct risk assessments, inspections and training to ensure ongoing compliance and safety performance across TAS facilities and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience leading a team.
• Experience in leading Safety Meetings.
• Familiarity with OSHA CFR 1910 standards for general industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EHS activities across TAS facilities in the Houston area.
• Lead safety meetings and hazard identifications with floor personnel.
• Develop and review JSA’s with Supervisors and Leads.
• Assist in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Stay current with laws, regulations and EHS program updates.
• Conduct EHS risk assessments, inspections and trainings as needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW:The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for following the direction of the EHS Manager in administering the EHS Program on a floor level. The EHS Coordinator will be the primary interface with floor personnel, and will work to ensure all EHS goals, and objectives are communicated properly.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Strong organizational skills to manage multiple TAS facilities within the Houston Area to address site specific needs.Requires close collaboration with production leadership (day/night shift), as well as EHS coordinators across all shifts and all sites.Conduct daily shop walk throughs.Encourage Pro-Active Hazard Identification and Mitigation through ensuring employee participation in consistent Behavior Based Safety program including the use of observation cards, trend analysis, and The SAFE Way program.Work with Supervisors and Leads to develop effective JSA’sStay abreast of existing and proposed laws, regulations, standards, and regulatory guidance (and proposed changes) to assess applicability, and advise EHS Manager on the implications, and makes suggestions to update the TAS EHS Program to ensure continued compliance.Under the direction of the EHS Manager, perform periodic EHS risk assessments, conduct regular safety inspections and audits, and recommend appropriate corrective action based on the results of these assessments at all TAS facilities and customer locations.Investigate and document work-related accidents, incidents, and near misses, and ensure corrective and preventive measures are implemented in a timely manner to prevent reoccurrence.Act on hazards and look for mitigation methods to deal with the discovered hazardsConduct Trainings when necessaryAssist the EHS Manager and EHS Supervisor in incident managementConduct Safety MeetingsAssist in EHS Report preparationAny other duties as assigned by TAS.JOB SKILLS:PC proficiency – must be versed in the use of basic Microsoft office tools – Excel, PowerPoint, WordAbility to mentor and coach others on safety guidelinesGood command of the English language, both written and verbal is requiredEDUCATION & TRAINING:High school diploma or GEDCompletion of the OSHA 511 Training or equivalentPossess or have the ability attend more specific and specialized training as recommended by EHS ManagerMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:At least 2 years Supervisory Experience in leading and coaching a team of employeesExperience in leading Safety MeetingsAbility to follow the direction of EHS Manager and EHS SupervisorExperience with OSHA Standards CFR 1910 for the general industry.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Experience in writing and teaching JSA’sExperience in leading and developing trainingsExperience in recognizing and mitigating hazards in a shop and manufacturing environment.Ability to make recommendations to improve overall EHS Program performance based on observations and experience from the floor.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work performed in a shop environmentExposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeableRequires normal vision and absence of color blindnessPhysical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materialsRegularly required to sit or stand, bend and reachThe use of Safety Glasses is requiredThe use of earplugs is recommendedAbility to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a weekAbility to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing FacilityCOMPANY OVERVIEW:Join a team driven to excel in all that we do!
